Born in 1923 and died in 2018.
He worked in Rotterdam on some wonderful paintings that take us back to bygone times.
So nostalgia but certainly not stuffy or corny.
Jan produced paintings of the Rotterdam port, landscapes, river landscapes, city and village views and beautiful still lifes.
His works are selling well and I have since sold works by Jan as well.
This still life is an example of the skill Jan Schaeffer possessed in using paint and brush to put a very realistic scene on canvas.
