A beautiful painting by renowned Dutch artist J.J Heppener.
Beautiful sky and nice position of the botters, this in a smoothly painted body of water.
It is not a finely painted painting but a nice impression of the botters at sea.
Painting is encased in a classic frame that has some damage, these damages have been updated.
Furthermore, the painting has some signs of use, not annoying but worth mentioning anyway.

J.J Heppener born 1826 and died 1898.
Attended the academy of fine arts in The Hague.
Perhaps it was there that he met the famous artist J.H Weissenbruch.
John often painted landscapes and beach scenes, but cityscapes were also among his subjects.
His paintings have a lot of atmosphere and are smoothly painted in beautiful colours, like this painting with the botters at sea.
